Basalt raining down
Flames dancing in the sky
Deafening roar as the earth cracks
Devastation in the eruption's wake

Seismographs start to shudder
Alarms raised far too late
No time to evacuate

Nothing can escape the pyroclast
Forests instantly burned to ash
Rivers flash boil as lava strikes
Unrecognisable after tonight
Scars last for a century
Eruptions seem to last for an eternity
